He currently serves as Associate Dean of full-time MBAs at INCAE Business School. He got his Ph.D in Environmental Resources Economics and a master’s degree in Agricultural Science with emphasis in Economics from the University of Hohenheim, Germany. Before coming to INCAE, he was in charge of the economic project within a national macro project in Germany called precision agriculture. He also taught graduate-level classes at the University of Hohenheim, and was a visiting professor at the University of Minnesota.
She was a Fulbright scholarship recipient granted by the U.S. State Department. Her research focuses on the study of technology management phenomena and her methodology includes data analytics, computational social science, especially philosophical and methodological challenges of using “machine learning” techniques for causal inference. She is interested in teaching the strategic use of information technologies, data analytics and project management, using both the traditional approach as well as agile methodologies.
An expert in digital marketing, he has designed global and local digital strategies in new and current market territories for dozens of global brands including Nestlé, 3M, New Balance, Sab Miller, Honda and Johnson & Johnson, among others. At the same time, he founded Darwin Digital, an advertising agency that grew to have more than 200 employees and was later acquired by Lionbridge in 2014. He currently works as a consultant in marketing automation and digital transformation.
He is an assistant professor at INCAE and teaches: Financial and Managerial Accounting, Control, and Budgeting and Applied Research. He also teaches refresher courses in the area of Executive Training and is the Director of INCAE’s Research Center.
She has a graduate degree in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University, Washington DC. She obtained her MBA at INCAE Business School and graduated with a double major in Social and Organizational Psychology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She teaches Leadership and Marketing, and leads her own company, Brainpower Latin America, where she is an Executive Coach for Senior Leaders, a Leadership and Women’s Leadership lecturer, a brand strategy consultant, and a personal brand expert.
He obtained a Ph.D. in Finance and Development from The Ohio State University and an M.A. in International Economics. He also has a graduate degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad de Costa Rica. He has been a consultant for companies in different countries since 1986 and specializes in the areas of Banking, Finance, Financial Strategy, Capital Markets, Investment Banking and Risk Management. He is the author of two books about financial markets and several case studies.
At Brandeis University in the U.S., she obtained a master’s degree and a Ph.D in Literary Studies. Her doctoral thesis was about Garcia Marquez’s “El otoño del Patriarca” and the Latin American dictator novel. Before joining, she was a FulbrightLASPAU scholarship recipient for three years and, for two consecutive years, she was granted the Hirschfeld Fellowship at Brandeis University. She currently teaches in the areas of Humanities and Communication at the Costa Rica campus.
Her areas of research include: the promotion of gender diversity in leadership, ethical leadership and anti-corruption best practices in the public and private sectors. She is a consultant for corporations in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela and Central America, such as Coca-Cola, HSBC, General Mills, Procter & Gamble, Hewlett Packard, Cargill, Walmart and INTEL. She is also an advisor for governmental agencies, educational institutions and development banks.
He is full professor at INCAE Business School since 1994. He was the Ambassador of Nicaragua in the U.S. and Canada. He was a visiting professor at Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios (ESEN) in El Salvador and guest lecturer in the executive master and other programs at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. He was part of the Western Hemisphere Advisory Group for the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.

He is an assistant professor at INCAE and his research focuses on economic theory and financial economics. Besides, he teaches Industrial Organization and International Finance.

He has geared his work towards the areas of General Management and Strategic Change in emerging countries, focusing on formal and informal market inclusion and creating concepts based on the philosophy of processes to generate a sustainable economic and social impact. He is also the Academic Director of VIVA Idea, where he develops new teaching methods to create and spread knowledge about sustainable social enterprises. He brings together sustainability experts and entrepreneurs to create and execute business plans.
He’s a network scientist and sociometry consultant. He’s contributed to business being more competitive through internal and external collaboration through technological platforms and psychometric tools. He got his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he worked with one of the 100 more influential people of the world according to Newsweek, Alex Sandy Pentland.
Mahsa Memarian is an assistant professor of Finance at INCAE Business School. She got her Ph.D. in Financial Management from the IESE Business School, Navarra University, Spain. Her research interest lies in the intersection of Urban / Real Estate Economics, Asset Pricing and Corporate Finance. In particular, she analyzes the effect of the urban characteristics of cities and their management system on the performance of companies and their financial results
He obtained his Ph.D. in Management Decision Science from IE Business School and an MSc. in International Management from the same school. He’s an assistant professor at INCAE Business School, where he focuses on Management Decisions’ Science. He is also an adjunct professor in the area of Operations and Technology at IE Business School and a member of the Decision Analysis Society (INFORMS), as well as co-editor of the Ask Das column of Decision Analysis Today. His research focuses on the intersection of theoretical knowledge of decision making (related to mathematical models), and how they are actually done in practice (related to cognitive and social psychology), for application in managerial decisions
He completed his doctoral studies at the Sloan School of Business at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He holds a Master degree on Business Administration (INCAE, graduated with honors) and he graduated from the University of Costa Rica in Electrical Engineering, B. S. Marine Engineering (U. S. Merchant Marine Academy, graduated with distinction). He has an important track record and experience as a consultant for companies and organizations in different Latin American countries, especially in Operations Management, Technology and Innovation Management and Strategic Simulation. He participates in Boards of Directors of several companies
He is an emeritus professor at INCAE Business School, originally from Nicaragua, specializing in the areas of Banking, Finance, International Business and Business Strategy. He has been a consultant and director of industrial, banking and financial companies in the United States and in Latin America. He is the author of more than 50 cases and publications. Also, he’s the co-author of several books, among them: Analysis of Strategic Investments and Mergers and Acquisitions in Practice.
He’s an experienced coach, who has seen and felt the substantial impact that the ener gizing and inspiring coaching conversations make. Applying the Boyatzis model of inten tional changes (ICT), his approach is positive and appreciative, looking for ways to help others identify and find their ideal self. He has taught courses at the undergraduate and MBA level at Case Western Reserve Univer sity, besides facilitating coaching and leader ship workshops. At the moment, he’s an as sistant professor at INCAE, where he teaches courses on Human Resources Management.
A German and Swiss national, she is an assistant professor at INCAE Business School, specialized in Organizational Behavior and Leadership. She obtained her Ph.D in Organizational Change from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. She continued her research with postdoctoral studies in the Chair in Strategic Management in Pluralistic Settings at HEC Montreal, Canada. She was a team leader and expert consultant for organizational culture in McKinsey & Company, Costa Rica. Until now, her research has focused on organizational change and group collaboration, with a particular interest in the health sector.
Got his master’s degree in Business Administration at INCAE. Also, holds a postgraduate degree in Market Oriented Innovation, from Leipzig University. He is a SME Manager from the University of Texas, San Antonio, and is a consultant in family businesses certified by the Nexia Foundation and the IDB. He’s done studies about entrepreneurship in Harvard University, MIT, Babson College, Stanford University, 500 startups and at the London School of Economics (LSE). He directs the “Latin American Center for Entrepreneurs” of INCAE
Alberto Trejos is INCAE’s dean, and was the director of the Latinamerican Center for Competitive and Sustainable Development (CLACDS). He’s been a member of the Northwestern University and visiting professor at the University of Michigan and the Institut d’Anàlisi Económica from Barcelona. He teaches economics, macroeconomics, international economy and development. Also, he served as a Foreign Trade Minister for Costa Rica.
He is currently director of the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS) at INCAE Business School, where he also works as a professor of Business Strategy. He has been a consultant in the formulation and implementation of strategy in companies in the food and beverage, agro-industrial, pharmaceutical, energy, financial and real estate sectors. Previously, he developed his experience on Operations Management with Walmart Mexico and Central America.
Associate Professor of Management and Organizations at INCAE Business School. She is the director of the Strachan Chair of Philanthropy and Social Investment. Her research explores the role enterprises have in the promotion of sustainable development in the countries they operate, particularly, through their corporate social responsibility strategy and the delivery of products and services to low income populations.
He got his doctoral degree in Economics from Michigan University in August, 2000. He also holds two master degrees from the same university, one in Statistics and the oth er one in Economics (December, 1997). His areas of specialization are: Macroeconomics, International Trade, Econometrics and Statis tics. His research work on offshoring processes and value chain globalization has made him receive international awards of prestige. His thesis was awarded with the Gunnar Hedlund Award, given by the Stockholm School of Economics to the best International Business thesis written for the 2014-2016 period. He was also a subchampion on other competitions such as the award for Best Dissertation in International Business (AIB) by Peter J. Buckley and Mark Casson in 2015 and the Northeastern University Award for Best Dissertation in International Business (IM Division D’Amore-McKim School of Business ) in 2016.

The Consulting Project is a fundamental requirement to obtain the Global MBA degree. It is a six-week plan developed in groups and deals with an important problem that the management of an organization needs to solve. The goal is to put into practice everything you have learned in the program. It is considered one of the most enriching experiences and a valuable opportunity to establish connections with potential employers.
